Dion Rosina (b. 1991, The Netherlands, Heemskerk)
Statement
Rosina began his practice in 2020. Since then, his work has been exhibited at institutions including Buro Stedelijk at Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Museum MORE, museum Rembrandthuis, Drents Museum, and Museum Catharijneconvent, as well as Alice Amati Gallery in London, Documenta Fifteen in Kassel, Art Brussels (represented by Working Title Gallery), Stevenson Gallery in Amsterdam and more. He has been nominated for the Royal Award for Modern Painting (2022, 2023, 2024) and won the prize in 2026. In 2024 he was nominated for the Volkskrant Visual Arts Prize and in the same year, he took part in the Bed Stuy Art Residency in New York City.
In 2026 he created a beautiful campaign image for the National Commemoration of the History of Slavery. The commemorative ceremony reflects on the abolition of Dutch transatlantic slavery in Suriname and the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom of the Netherlands: Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, Sint Eustatius, and Sint Maarten.
