Raziel Perin’s multidisciplinary practice is grounded in the exploration of Dominican culinary tradition and the spiritual dimension of domestic Afro-diasporic cosmologies, passed on to him by his mother. 

In African belief systems there is no separation between the realm of the living and the dead, spirits and humans constantly interact and participate in every aspect of life, in the same way Raziel's artistic practice is grounded in the intertwining of everyday life, the and the spiritual dimension, are a red thread running through his paintings, drawings, sculptural works and performances. Perin graduated from the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (NABA) in Milan (IT) in 2015 and received his MFA from the Piet Zwart Institute in 2026 (NL). He exhibited internationally: at the MA*GA Museum in Milan (IT) and at MECA art fair in Santo Domingo (DR) and at the Italian Institute of Culture in Paris (FR). In 2025 he was awarded the Italian Council XIV Prize by the Italian Ministry of Culture for his multi-sited performance research project Vitruvian Man/Healing Masculinity which he developed in collaboration with institutions across Europe, Africa and the USA, such as Kunst Meran (IT) , Howard University in Washington (USA), D.C., CORPO in Rotterdam and the Wereldmuseum in Amsterdam (NL).  

Next to it he participated in several residencies, in the Chavon Foundation in La Romana (DR), the Young Gifted Black Italians in Florence (IT) and recently in 2026 the Black Rock residency, founded by Kehinde Wiley, in Dakar (SN).
